oh well, its not like he could pitch or play centerfield anyway...

but seriously, WHATTHEFUCK?!?!?!?!

it looks like the reason was the fucking curly haired boyfriend's article on sunday or something. can we run that fucker out of town now, please?

"A leading contributing factor, according to sources close to the situation, was a column in Sunday’s Boston Globe in which too much inside information about the relationship between Epstein and his mentor, team president and CEO Larry Lucchino, was revealed -- in a manner slanted too much in Lucchino’s favor. Epstein, according to these sources, had several reasons to believe Lucchino was a primary source behind the column and came to the realization that if this information were leaked hours before Epstein was going to agree to a new long-term deal, it signaled excessive bad faith between him and Lucchino."

Henry shoulda fired lucchino over this to keep theo. bullshit.

here's the CHB's article. what a fucking cunt.
"What is alarming -- for the future of the Sox franchise -- is Theo's sudden need to distance himself from those who helped him rise to his position of power."

i don't understand why they even fucked around with him. just give him what he wants and stay out of his way. i think the nomar trade should have shown them that he would have the balls to walk away from this if he thought it was best for him.

good luck in whatever you do, Theo, and thanks a hell of a lot for the past 3 years. it was the best baseball time of my life.

i'm a little rusty, but i think i remember how this goes...

wait 'til next year!

much less painful saying that when we know what it actually felt like last year.

francona did a good job with the patchwork pitching he had, starting and the pen.

i think (esp after watching him celebrate with the angels) not signing o-cab and having renteria make 30 errors at shortstop was the difference this year, at least division-wise.
you figure those 30 errors lead to how many unearned runs and extra pitches thrown? say there were three games we would have won without one of those errors.
thats the divison.
you couls also say the same thing about foulke stubbornly playing on a bum knee for the first couple months too. again, 3 games.

and i wouldnt have minded game 1 being played as i took my vows. a game 7, well...

Game over.

1-2-3
3 and out. Obviously we didn't have "it" this year. Whatever the "it" was we didn't have it this time around. Lousy pitching was the main factor. Anyone else miss Cabrera at shortstop? So disappointing, but part of me is glad it is all over, no dragging on with the inevitable result.

well...

we've been here before.

and it worked out with oakland and the yankees...
maybe we take the two at home, but then who knows what happens next?

always the bridesmaid...

but hey, the wildcard worked out pretty well last year.
